At The Red House Learning Hub, our purpose is to nurture the whole child from infancy through the preschool years—by creating a safe, loving, and emotionally responsive environment where children feel secure, valued, and capable.
We believe that strong attachment in the earliest years builds the foundation for lifelong confidence, learning, and healthy relationships. Infants and young children thrive when their caregivers respond with warmth, consistency, and kindness. In The Red House Nest, our focus goes far beyond physical care. Infancy is the stage where children begin forming their sense of trust, safety, and belonging in the world.
Through responsive caregiving, gentle routines, and warm connection, we nurture not only development—but the child’s sense of being loved and understood.
We believe babies are not just growing bodies; they are developing emotional and social foundations that will shape their confidence and relationships for years to come.

In The Red House Explorers, toddlers are not only learning skills they are learning who they are.
This is the stage where children develop independence, self-expression, and the ability to understand their emotions and relationships. Big feelings, strong curiosity, and a desire to do things “by myself” are all signs of healthy growth.
Our role is not simply to teach routines or early academics.
Our role is to guide children in:
- Understanding emotions
- Practicing kindness and empathy
- Building confidence and self-trust
- Learning patience, cooperation, and respect
- Developing resilience through gentle guidance

At The Red House Learning Hub, our preschool program is designed to build on the secure foundations formed in our infant and toddler programs. Many of our children grow with us from their earliest years, allowing us to support their development in a consistent, nurturing environment as they become confident and capable preschoolers.
In The Red House Learners, children are naturally curious, social, and eager to understand the world around them. While we introduce early literacy, numbers, and school-readiness skills, we believe that true readiness for kindergarten goes deeper than academics.
Our focus is on developing the whole child.
In The Red House Learners, we nurture:
- Confidence and independence
- Emotional awareness and self-regulation
- Kindness, empathy, and respect for others
- Problem-solving and critical thinking
- A love of learning through meaningful play and exploration

At The Red House Learning Hub, families often join us in infancy and remain through the preschool years. This continuity allows children to grow in an environment where they are known, understood, and nurtured every step of the way.
The Red House Club | School-Age Program

At The Red House Learning Hub, we continue to support children beyond the preschool years through our School-Age Program, a welcoming space where older children can relax, connect with friends, and enjoy meaningful activities after a full day at school.
We understand that school-age children still need nurturing, guidance, and a sense of belonging. Many of the children in this program have grown with us from their early years, and we value maintaining those relationships as they continue to develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
Our school-age program provides a balance of structured and unstructured time, allowing children to unwind, be creative, and enjoy being kids.
Transportation
For families’ convenience, school buses drop off and pick up children directly in front of The Red House, allowing for a smooth and supervised transition between school and our program.
Flexibility
The Red House Learning Hub offers care for school-age children after school, providing a safe, welcoming environment for children when school is not in session.
Because the Harrisburg School District does not hold classes on Fridays, we offer Friday care specifically for school-age children, giving families reliable coverage and children a place to stay engaged, active, and connected with friends. We also offer after-school care and flexible hours to support working families and varying schedules.
Children in this program enjoy:
- Outdoor play and active games
- Arts and crafts and creative projects
- Social play and group activities
- Age-appropriate electronics and technology use
- Extra outdoor time during warmer months
- Summer activities including water play and outdoor exploration
We maintain a safe, supervised environment where children can build friendships, practice responsibility, and continue developing the confidence and independence that prepare them for the years ahead.
At The Red House Learning Hub, children don’t outgrow belonging. They remain part of our community, growing not only academically but socially and emotionally as they move into the school-age years
